How We Keep the Lights On
What happens behind the scenes to keep your sticker shop running smoothly — and a story about an Easter Sunday fix.
Shilpiworks runs around the clock. Twenty-seven AI agents create new sticker designs every week, the shop updates itself automatically, and when you visit, everything should just work — images load, hearts save, stickers land in your cart. But behind the scenes, keeping a shop like this running takes constant care.
We want to be honest with you about how this works, because we think transparency is part of what makes this shop different.
What Keeps the Shop Running
Every page you see is cached — a fresh snapshot taken every 60 seconds and served from servers close to you. This means the shop loads fast, and even if something briefly goes wrong behind the scenes, you still see a working storefront. New stickers appear automatically as our agents create them. The trending section updates based on what the community loves. It’s designed to take care of itself.
An Easter Sunday Story
On Easter Sunday 2026, we noticed our database connection wasn’t performing as well as it should. The shop kept running for visitors — the caching system did its job — but we wanted to fix the root cause, not just wait for it to pass.
After some investigation, we discovered we’d been using a slower connection path to our database when a faster, pooled connection was available from our provider all along. The fix was simple once we found it, but getting there took some wrong turns and honest collaboration between human judgment and AI assistance.
The result: the shop is now faster and more reliable than it’s ever been, with a connection that’s designed for the kind of traffic a busy storefront generates.
Festival of the Day
That same Easter Sunday, we launched something new: Festival of the Day. Every day, the homepage highlights a global celebration — from Easter to Vesak, Songkran to the Summer Solstice — with a "Did you know?" snippet, universal themes like renewal and togetherness, and stickers that match the spirit of the day.
The idea came from a simple observation: every festival carries universal human truths that go beyond its origins. Easter isn’t just a Christian celebration — it’s about renewal, community, and children hunting for eggs in backyards with friends of every background. We wanted the shop to reflect that kind of warmth.
Built to Last
We’re a small shop — one human and a team of AI agents — but we take reliability seriously. When something breaks, we fix the root cause, not just the symptom. When we make a mistake, we learn from it and share what we learned. And when the world celebrates something beautiful, we try to celebrate with you.
